Welcome to Bear Adventures!
Join us for unforgettable experiences with some of the world’s most incredible animals. We guide our wonderful guests on luxury bear watching tours across the world, to the open dry forests of Sri Lanka, the misty cloud forests of Ecuador, the magnificent open fjords of Canada, the rolling mountain valleys of Italy, and frost covered shores of the Arctic, and much much more.
With eight species of bear living across sixty countries, there a lot of bears to spot!
Oscar Furness
Founder & Principle Guide
I’m Oscar Furness, the founder and principal guide for Bear Adventures. I have had the great priviledge of working with all eight of the world’s bear species. My time looking for bears (read: career to date) has spanned wilderness guiding, conservation, education, wildlife rescue, exploration and close to a decade working in wildlife documentary production for clients like the BBC, National Geographic, Discovery and more.
As a licensed bear guide with experience working with bears across the world, I accompany each bear watching trip personally, working together with a local guide in each location to deliver you the most awe-inspiring experiences with my favourite animal family.
All of our tours follow the same three foundational principles:
Expert Leadership
All of our tours are guided by Oscar and handpicked local guides who are in-turn experts in the local bear population. We deliver informed, insightful guiding, no matter the destination.
Simple Luxury
Bears like to be comfortable – they’ll build a den for winter, a tree nest for the night, or a day bed just because. We expect no less for our guests, and ensure our tours have high-quality lodgings, dining and logistics.
Ethical Tourism
Of the eight species of bear, six are classified as vulnerable. In order to protect these symbols of the wild, our tours have strong conservation links, and we aim to reduce our disturbance with small group sizes.
